Procedurally Driven Mountain Locations

The challenge was to create multiple shots of an environment that showcases 65+ animal species. Each shot should look like a unique location within a mountain biome. I used MapMagic for terrain generation and location spawning and biome blending to give the forced perspective found in some shots.

Using forced perspective to get the most out of one terrain. I created a masked division of a foreground and background. The background was spawned with smaller trees and a distant mountain range. The fog helps to sell the effect.

These scenes are regenerated with randomized trees placement and new animals spawned within the shot.

A shot is setup like a stage productions. Locations for props are predefined and randomly scattered at runtime.
